Hypocritically enough, there are still a lot of stigmas out there when it comes to male masturbation.​ It’s seen as something shameful or embarrassing and it creates a toxic atmosphere that makes it difficult for people like me to talk about in an open and honest way.​What’s even worse is that the state was fining men for something that isn’t even illegal in Texas, making it all the more infuriating.​After getting over my initial shock and outrage, I decided to go deeper and understand why something like this would happen in the first place.​

I started to do some more research and I was surprised to learn that this wasn’t the only state prosecuted people for masturbation.​It turns out that this has been happening in several countries around the world, with hugely varying degrees of severity.​In some cases, there are even harsher punishments like jail time or Worse, but that didn’t make it any less shocking for vibrators me.​More and more it seemed like those in power in these countries were using these laws to push their own morality onto their citizens, and that felt completely wrong.​

I know that this doesn’t affect everyone the same way, but I can only imagine what it’s like for those who actually have to live in these places and deal with these kinds of laws.​The idea of feeling shame and stigma for something that’s so incredibly natural and common in any society is truly heartbreaking.​

At this point, I was torn between feeling frustrated and extremely sad at how backwards our society can still be in certain places.​So I decided to reach out to some of my friends who lived in the countries that still enforce these kinds of laws to hear their perspectives, and I was overwhelmed with how much love and kindness they all expressed.​It was clear that they were all in support of the idea of freedom for everyone, and that’s when I decided to get involved in trying to change these laws.​

I joined a few online communities that were actively advocating for the repeal of these laws.​It was empowering to see so many people who were dedicated and passionate about making a positive difference, and that eventually led me to a few protests that I was able to get involved in.​Although there’s still a long way to go, it was an incredibly rewarding experience that gave me hope that we can use our collective power to bring about positive change in the world around us.​
